«18»

“18” is a project inspired by the music of the 18th century, where our instruments and the rich repertoire of the composers of the time mark a turning point in musical history. “18” symbolizes the union of two 18th-century violins: a Claude Pierray from 1724 and a Nicolas Augustin Chappuy from 1790, both built in Paris during a period of great splendor in the making of bowed string instruments. This sonic connection between the two violins seeks a perfect fusion of their timbres, expressed through a chronological repertoire that allows listeners to enjoy works by key 18th-century composers who left a wonderful musical legacy for this ensemble.

The goal of this concert is to transport the audience on a musical journey through the 18th century, exploring the evolution of music from the Baroque to the Classical era. Through masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean-Marie Leclair, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, attendees will be able to appreciate the diversity and richness of this foundational period in music history.
